Hannah I want to tell you that It was such a pleasure to be with your mum - I really remember her always smiling as in that photo.
I was last in touch with Mary Ann in September 2023 when she said that she was awaiting results and everything looked good.
I also spoke to her on the phone later when Felicity Anne was with her and she said how much she appreciated all that was being done by her sisters, mother and yourself.
My earliest memories of Mary Ann were when she lived in Luton with her family from about the age of 13 years old and we visited often. We played with all the sisters, my brother Gavin & I and exchanged stories and laughed a lot!
We also remember the time Mary Ann visited Lisbon with my brother, Gavin and myself. Mary Anne had a great sense of humour, like her father George, and was always the playful and amusing person in the party. When I met her again, at gatherings at Imeldas 80th birthday and subsequently, we once again got on so easily, this is how childhood friendships are so great, you can so easily resume from where we had taken off.
Mary Ann showed me some of the beautiful things she was making and how much she enjoyed doing it. I'm sad that we will no longer be able to talk and laugh with her but I'm sure she has gone straight to heaven and is keeping the good Lord amused!
We knew death was coming but we all hoped it would stay away for a bit longer. May she Rest in Peace. We will offer up a mass for Mary Ann.
Unfortunately we cannot be at the funeral as we are in the US for a holiday to see the total eclipse - on the day of the funeral. We will light a candle and remember you all. Sending lots of love
